Liebster award for Creative Cat

On Monday I received a liebster awards from Elba from Live Colorful. Elba had helped me out with what I should choose as April's giveaway and we both share similar blogs, plus she has some amazing tutorials on Valentines day cards, coasters and loads more!

So when you receive a Liebster award you need to answer some questions the blogger who gave you the award asked you so people can get to know more about you.  It’s a fun way to meet and connect with other talented bloggers and reward all their hard work and creativity.

   Confident, imaginative, dramatic.

   I have many. Piano, sketching, blogging, rock climbing and writing are my favourites.

   The orange you get in a sunset :)

  I haven't had tea for ages but its really nice so tea it is!

5) Where do you find inspiration for your new posts or creations?
   Pinterest, or during a day dream.

   You're that I want cover by Julia and Angus Stone. It's like the folk version of the song.

   Soap, iPad and family (including my two cats)

   Trying to fit in work and blogging at the same time.

   Sticky toffee pudding!

   I usually love winter because we go skiing, but when we don't I love the summer!

   Noises in my house at night. My imagination goes crazy if that happens and I'm just there like,"Oh my gosh! Ghosts!" Even though I don't believe in ghosts, which is quite funny.

I need your help!!

Hello all,

Even though I'm sticking to the idea of a monthly giveaway, I'm stuck as to what I should give away. So... I need your help! Remember: You don't have to choose one, you can say which ones you prefer. Also... I'll reserve everyone who comments into the giveaway, just say so if you don't want to be entered. The giveaway, as usual, will unfortunately be to UK and Ireland residents only. Sorry :(
So, here is my haul:

1) Two bath confetti packs, two bath sugar packs, two bath sprinkle packs and a handmade soap of mine.

Comes in orange, plum, lemon and lime.

2) An orange and purple handmade candle of mine, made by dipping and twisting wax. Took about forty minutes to make.

 Would look really nice in a vase!

3) The Paris necklace that is the first item of my Silver Hearts jewellery range. Took about an hour and a half to make over the course of three days.

Silver Hearts jewellery range!

Hello all :)
I've decided that my hobby of jewellery making should be taken to the next level, so I'm launching my own jewellery range called Silver Hearts! It is mainly going to be full of little silver charms to do with classic children's stories, hobbies and travels and I made my first necklace today! It's a Paris themed necklace (quite obviously) and each charm was individually made and each link on the chain was individually connected :) it also has a little clasp, the ones you see on nearly all necklaces, that I soldered onto it with care.

I would love feedback from everybody about this new range that's coming soon once I build up a nice collection of jewellery.

14 days of craft tutorials: Origami heart bookmark

Welcome to day 1 of Creative Cat's new project 14 days of craft tutorials! Today we're going to be doing a lovely origami heart bookmark that slots snuggly onto the corner of your book page. It's very easy to make and I'm going to be teaching you through photographs :) Enjoy!! xx

You will need a 4"x4" piece of origami or printer paper.                  Step 1: Fold the paper diagonally from
Mine is relatively bigger but you'll want it small.                              each corner.                                             

Step 2: When you have an X shape creased                      Step 3: Open it out and grab the edges like this.

Guerilla art project: My Banksy painting

Even though I was meant to have finished my guerilla art project a while back lats week I was painting a brick wall and a Banksy rat this morning at my art group.
I only thought of it very quickly and when I showed a friend of mine the picture she asked where it was because she thought it was an actual brick wall with a Banksy rat on it....lol
Anyway, this is the finished product...

 

Excuse the fact it's on its side. I'll get round to swivelling that round later but for now, I'd love to hear some feed back off you all. I'm getting it framed as well so it would look lovely when that's done. Please tell me if I could improve it in any way :)

Medium: Watercolour on cartridge

Colours used: Burnt umber, Payne's grey, ultra marine, lemon yellow, raw sienna, crimson red.

Valentines project: Cute n easy button card

Hello again! Sorry it's been a few days since I last posted but I've been caught up with trying to make a new project for my blog. And here it is: the handmade Valentines project!
So after a long think for today's post I decided to do a series of around four, but anyway...let's get going!
This is what it should look like after about twenty minutes spent on it:

But that was my first time doing it. Below is a tutorial on how to doa similar card that doesn't require as much time but is still fun to do. My little sister helped me complete it which is why it looks more like a card made by a 7 year old rather than someone with their own craft business.
So, you will need:
- A card blank         - A rubber
- A ruler                  - 2 large buttons or 2p coins
- A pink felt tip       - About 20-30 pink, white and red buttons
- A pencil                - PVA glue

1. Place the two large buttons either side of each other on the front of the card blank. Draw around both of these, holding the buttons with your hand so the buttons don't slip (this is a right pain when it happens)

2. Using your ruler, place your pencil diagonally from the large buttons pointing inwards like a heart shape and draw.

3. It should look something like this. A lot better, in fact. My example is terrible.

4. Get yo bu'ons (sorry) and start placing them inside the drawn shape. Once you have your pattern arranged, rub out the pencil heart. For extra cuteness, add four lil heart shaped buttons on each corner.

5. Add a small message like "I love you x" along the side of the button heart. Make sure you write it in cursive to make it snazzy. My lil sister wrote mine for me.

6. Cuteness achieved! (Probably not on mine but it will look a lot better on yours if you spend time on it)
Now all you need to do is find a valentine. No valentine? Get your inner entrepreneurial mind on and sell it. Make your own button heart card business and make millions, then write a book about it.

What I'm doing for Red Nose Day

Guess what?? :D I've decided to do something funny for money and do a little dare-devil themed fundraising idea involving, yes, dares. The following is a list of dares I'm going to hopefully accomplish if I get 3 or more sponsors for each:
10p: -Wear weird hairstyle for a meeting
        - Pull weird face throughout meeting
        - Have a hug-a-stranger day
20p: - Wear blazer on head all day
        - Wear clothes backwards for half the day
        - Wear shoes on hands throughout a meeting
30p: - Spend the whole of lunch break sat on a bench with coat on backwards and hood over face
        - Randomly lie down on the floor in the office like a snake for about 5 minutes
        - Say I love you to three random people
40p: - Talk with tongue out all day (possible? maybe? :S)
        - Wear clothes backwards all day
        - Give love heart signals to miserable looking people who just need a bit o love
50p: - Wear a Harry Potter scar and glasses all day
        - Wear panda nose hat over face half the day
        - Call colleagues mum/dad throughout the day
60p: - Answer with no to everybody's question
        - Tie someone to myself so we're back to back all day
        - Give my boss a hug and refuse to let go
70p: - Write YOLO across forehead for the day
        - Wear hair in mohawk style
        - Paint entire face red
80p: - Shout "I'M TRYING TO CONCENTRATE ON EATING EVERYONE PLEASE BE QUIET" with a megaphone in a city such as London
       - Draw on a monobrow to wear for the day
       - Wear lipstick scribbly around area surrounding lips
90p: - Wear a moustache and beard all day, and if someone asks about it I'll insist they're imagining
       - Wear short black wig all day (NOTE: I have long blonde hair so it would make a big difference!)
       - Get a pink dip dye for the day (temporary pink spray)
£1: - Come into work wearing a onesie
      - Patrol streets wearing rollerskates
